It's a slice of the countryside brought to the city and celebrates the best of our London borough...
Here are a few of my favourite bits from this summer's show.
I headed first to the competition tent, as I like to every year...
Loving the best veg section!
And how cute are these knitted strawberry booties amongst the craft entries?!
Homemade cheese straws and jams ~ yum!
There was even a photography comp ~ now how did I miss that? Note to self for next year!
Plants-a-plenty to browse and buy...
Next I stopped by the bees, another fave of mine. Beeswax candle making looked like fun!
Loving these vintage teacup candles, how pretty are they?!
Of course there was lots of food and local produce on offer, and plenty of places to enjoy it...
I have to confess that one of these ladies finished coming home with me!
I also enjoyed checking out the rare breeds. The city farm is a great way to educate children...
It was another very warm day so I think these folks were quite happy to be relieved of their coats!
The shearing's always a big crowd puller...as was the camel racing this year I hear!
And if things all got a bit much, there was the holistic therapies tent for massages and facials...
All in all, 'twas a great British afternoon out, enjoying the sun and the villagey atmosphere.
What are your favourite summer events in your area? Do you have a summer show or fete in your town or village?
Holy sh*t that's a lot of money for a rub-down! I always miss our photo comp too, every single year, despite the fact I do the photos for the show, so you should deffo give it a go! Looks great, cool pics!
ReplyDeleteThat's London prices for you! Needless to say, I didn't partake... Next year I'll aim to submit a photo and maybe a carrot or two : )
