More Fallingwater Interior Shots

Wednesday, 3 July 2013

I've had a few requests to see more inside Fallingwater, the Frank Lloyd Wright house we visited on our recent US holiday. We chose the 'in-depth' tour, which lasted 2 hours, and allowed photography inside the property.  I obviously made the most of this, although it was a bit of an elbow fight on occasion with Mr Japan, also on the tour, who took more pictures than I have ever seen anyone take in two hours, with several different cameras and his phone!
So here we are ~ more from within this lovely, tranquil home set in the forest above a waterfall...

Those sexy corner windows again!

Main living area

The space behind the bookshelves looks down to the water ~ there's a staircase you can go down to get to it

Open-plan dining...

This was my favourite space ~ a cosy office-den close to the kitchen

More great shelving, this time above a staircase

One of the bedrooms ~ note the painting on the wall by Diego Rivera

The master bedroom opens out onto a roof terrace, which overlooks the waterfall
Check out the gorgeous Tiffany lamp on the dressing table...

I loved this cut out desk, which accommodates the opening window
Set further up the hill behind the main house is a darling little guesthouse. In some ways I liked it even more, so cosy and private, and again those gorgeous cushions, blankets and rugs...

Wouldn't you just like to snuggle up here?

  1. Wow - thank you! Isn't it amazing! Love the shelving set so naturally in the walls. I just want to dive right in! Many thanks for the lovely pics x
