Breakfast at The Wolseley

Tuesday, 15 July 2014

It was Mr DI's birthday at the weekend. We kicked off the day with breakfast at The Wolseley on Piccadilly. Such a lovely place ~ great food, excellent service, beautiful tableware.

There's some interesting history to the building as well. It was designed by the architect William Curtis Green, and built in the 1920s as a car showroom for Wolseley Motors Ltd. Since then it has also been a bank and opened as a Grand European Café in 2003. Much of the style is Venetian & Florentine, but you can also see some Japanese influence.

Breakfast at the Wolseley makes an affordable alternative to afternoon tea ~ we highly recommend it!

  1. What a gorgeous place for a breakfast treat! Having breakfast out is one of my favourite treats - and a fairly affordable one too around here!

    1. I resolved that we should go out for breakfast more often, perhaps not always as fancy as this and probably a bit closer to home, but it's definitely a lovely way to start the weekend : )
