Steller Stories App

Thursday, 4 September 2014

I have a new crush, another creative outlet, a rival for Pinterest indeed.

Enter Steller Stories

This beautiful visual storytelling app is being mooted as the best thing since Instagram and the blogosphere is all over it like a rash, me included.

The idea is to create a flick-through booklet using pictures and videos, adding in your own text and customising it with different layouts and fonts. It's particularly well suited to recipes, travel stories and tutorials on just about anything. Bloggers love it for its creative vibe and design-based concept.

I first fell in love with Steller when I saw this Coffee Ritual story, created by the incredibly talented Beth Kirby who writes the gorgeous Local Milk blog.

Seriously good stuff.

I've put together a couple of stories of my own so far. Click on the links below, or search for me in-app as thedigitaliris:

Making hot chocolate the Colombian way
Decoupage for beginners

The app is available for iPhone & iPad, but you can also access your account and view stories on the website. If you haven't checked it out yet, I really recommend that you do, although you might find it sucks up any remaining time you have in your life after you've prised yourself away from Pinterest!

Have you discovered Steller yet? I'd love to connect with you if you have and see what you've created.

  1. I've been meaning to get into Stellar for a couple weeks now -- a few people I follow in instagram have been raving about it. I will definitely have to check it out now!
